The Rock and Con Air are $18.44 at my Wal-Mart. Paid $24.99 for The Rock at Best Buy yesterday before I became aware of the Wal-Mart price (never thought my Wal-Mart would carry these two Blu-rays). The Rock has the $10.00 mail in rebate, but the Con Air that I ended up buying at Wal-Mart does not have it.

Is the $10 rebate only valid in the US, or do us poor Canadians get to take part as well?

Shit walmart is offering some good prices. I got my copies @ BB as well.

According to a poster on AVS, the deal is valid in Canada (the rebate address was in Ontario, so I think you need to buy the disc in Canada to get the Canadian rebate form). Future Shop has The Rock and Con Air on as 2 for $50 which isn't super hot, but saves 4 bucks from buying them individually, and with the additional $10 rebates it isn't bad at all. I'll be buying them there instead of Amazon.

Thanks for the info. Good to know. Too bad I'm not interested in Con Air though. Now I need to decide if I'm willing to deface the cover for the UPC :)

Nice find. So the $5 Disney coupon should work as well right?

$18.44
-$5 coupon
-$10 rebate
-----------
$3.44 to upgrade?

That is an upgrade price I can live with. Even worth cutting UPCs for. :)

Deftones 01-11-08 10:28 AM

I didn't even think that the Disney coupons would be valid on these movies. Man, I might rush out and pick up The Rock for $14.

Michael Corvin 01-11-08 12:43 PM

Worked like a charm. $15 after tax and before $10 rebate.

They also had all but the newest Harry Potter BD movies for the same price.

Michael Corvin 01-11-08 03:22 PM

No rebate form in my copy of the Rock. Is there somewhere online I can print it out?

I don't know but I've got a form I'm not going to use. Let me know if you want it.

Michael Corvin 01-11-08 03:43 PM

Thanks. I browsed a couple forums and it looks like Wal-Mart may have gotten the shaft on the rebate form. I found a few posts from people that didn't get one that bought from Wally World.

I did find a phone number to request a rebate form: 1-800-723-4763. Should arrive within a week.

What worked? The Disney coupon?

If so, at what store?

Pretty sure they mean Wal-Mart

Jericho 01-12-08 02:02 AM

Anyone know if we can send both the Rock and Con Air in one envelope. The terms do say one submission per envelope, but they also say one rebate per household. Which imples I can't do it for Con Air AND The Rock. But since I bought them together, if I do submit them, I'd rather just bundle them together.

Three posts above yours... Wal-Mart. :)

I don't get why so many people hate Armageddon, I've always liked it. I think most of the haters just hate it becuase they think they're cool to bash the movie for some unknown reason.

Agreed. Some movies exist just to be fun. I would upgrade on release day.

PopcornTreeCt 01-15-08 11:43 PM

I just watched The Rock and it easily has the best PQ of any live action film I've ever seen.

I'm confident that if they would have cut out the cheesy-as-hell love story between two people who had absolutely no chemistry, opinions would change drastically. Leave the emotional stuff to the directors who actually know how to do it.

By chance, did anyone happen to call/e-mail and find out? It would be much easier to include 2 or 3 requests in a single envelope (con air, the rock, crimson tide).

Thanks!

I've worked for one of the largest rebate companies(GFS). Don't do that because you,ll only get one processed and even then it might not go through correctly with all the shit that goes on in those rebate places.

Be safe, send them individually.

Yavin 01-28-08 12:45 PM

Anyone know if all copies of The Rock are supposed to include the form for the $10 back by mail (for owners of the previous DVD)?

I'm asking because the copies of The Rock blu-ray that I see in Best Buy and Future Shop have no sticker on the front touting the $10 back by mail (in fact, these copies have a UPC sticker on top of the wrapping, covering the UPC on the back of the cover).

Whereas at Wal*Mart, the copies there have the sticker on the front of the packaging touting the $10 back by mail, and IIRC these copies do not have the UPC on the back of the cover covered by a different UPC sticker on top of the wrapping.

I'd rather pick up my copy from Best Buy or Future Shop but I want to make sure that the rebate form is inside the case first.

BTW, if it makes any difference, I'm in Canada.
