You know what...I disagree with Adam's review here. He slammed the movie (and maybe rightfully so)...and I found it somewhat enjoyable. The PQ is wonderful and Lindsay (at least to me) is pretty damn good looking. The story itself is actually kind of refreshing and has not been done to death like a lot of movies, and you can look at the movie in several different ways. I was thinking about starting a discussion on it as it seems many people are warming up to it since it on DVD vs. when it went to the Box Office and Lindsay was arrested. The movie does make you feel like an idiot by the Blue/Red to signify different "characters" but the ending really makes you think. Lohan is yummy in a Thong/Booty Shorts. I'd love to give my opinion on it but I don't want to spoil the movie for the 3 other people who may want to see it :lol: But really, give it a rent. I got it for $15 new so its not too bad and worth at least a BOGO look in the future.

As for the separation...I like separating them. I tried putting them together, but they just looked stupid with 5 red cases, 1 blue, 3 red cases, 5 blue etc. I gave my parents my A3 so when they come over its easier to say choose from this shelf and not have to explain the different colored cases (or none at all, like Close Encounters). As you can see, I think my HD DVD outnumbers by Blu by only about 20 titles.

I have shelves by studio, Television, and finally three rows for HDM. Two full of HD DVD and one 3/4 full of Blu Ray. When the newness wears off or I get new shelving, I will probably rearrange and go back to just Studio and TV which I have done for 6 years now.

Alphabetical by director's last name, then chronological within their body of work. I've got all three formats mixed together. TV shows, music DVDs (unless it's by a known director like Stop Making Sense was), and anthology movies are listed by title.

Similar to mine. I have all DVD boxsets on one shelf and DVD on the other, in ABC order with some box sets/tins thrown in.

I hate to say it, but I'm ready to believe the Warner rumor. I am 99% convinced they will announce exclusive BD support at CES and the war is over. This leaves me wondering what to do. I expect HD DVD to hang around for awhile longer. Universal and Paramount will probably not change sides in 2008. However, I'm really weighing whether or not I want to start selling off my HD DVDs while the value is a bit higher. I am very close to buying all the Warner BD titles I can during the B1G1 sale and selling the Warner HD DVDs now while the value is higher.

My HD collection still is tiny compared to my DVDs so they are still grouped together in alphabetical order. One day I may separate them by genre, but right now the number is too small to bother and I don't want them mixed in with the DVDs. That will kill my OCD.

Wow...thats nuts. You mix DVD/Blu-ray/HD DVD together? Gotta see pictures of that.

How do you handle movies in a series with different directors (like Halloween for example, if you would buy all 9 now available)?

I wouldn't do anything until they announce it. You may regret it if WB goes HD DVD and not Blu-ray. Just wait. There will always be BOGOs and always be people like me that will continue to buy on HD DVD unless I have no other choice.

Right now most of my stuff is in boxes because I've recently moved, and am actually planning to move again sometime in the middle of '08.

As for series with different directors, I put them in by director. So, the Halloween movies would be scattered all over my collection, based on the director's last name.

Wow...seems like a pain to find a movie unless you know the directors last name (which, I'm sure you do which is why you put them in that order).

I used to put them alphabetically within the Studio shelf, with the exception of certain groups of films like all the MGM Bonds or all the MGM Woody Allens. But then a shelf fell over and mixed them all up. Now I am doing well to keep up with the Studio method.

On Delicious Library i have mirrored my physical system, but also mixed the HDM in with studio.

I would argue selling my HD DVDs would almost guarantee Warner supporting HD DVD. That is how my luck runs.

I started looking through my discs though and forgot how many were missing stuff like TrueHD or IME on the BD version. Not going to be worth the hassle to sell just a couple so I'm not worried about it. Maybe when I finally get ready to get a new player in a year or two there will be a nice combo player on the market to replace my A2 or A3.

It keeps the archivist in me busy. :) Plus at a certain point you end up knowing your collection well enough to tell where something is.

I agree. Don't sell anything yet. I am still not ready to believe WB is going to drop either side, but if they did, I could see it going both ways. CES is going to be very interesting...

Its funny, we said this about CES 2007 (for both of them). We all think something big will happen...and nothing does.

What was the rumor for '07? That Disney was going to go neutral or something like that?

And Lionsgate, since they had just put movies up on XBL. And Universal would go neutral, of course :)

Um while he does have his preference for Hd-dvd and he does make some disparaging comments towards BD, he has every right as you or me to post in this thread. Please revise your comments as it could be seen as a personal attack.

Is it DVD's or Blu-ray/HD DVD discs? They need to make that a bit more clearer as there is already mass confusing about what plays what. I imagine Warner will make some sort of announcement tomorrow (or this week) saying "We have not chosen a side we are waiting to see how the Holiday Season plays out. We love being neutral...blah blah blah" like they always do.

I have three broken Blu-ray cases that I want to replace and I want to make my HP Giftset into individual discs to put on my shelf (I assume cover art will be available soon for these). Anyone know?

I think there was a link in the last version of this thread. At the very least someone posted a link to a site today. An individual case was .65, but BD cases were out of stock. I need a replacement HD DVD case for the butchering Universal took to Apollo 13.
