HD Video looks different than HD Film, just as the same holds true for SD. No HD DVD or BD of something shot on film will look the same a s a news broadcast or sportintg event. The two mediums are different.

Remastered Full Metal Jacket BD - graininess. Every single HD-DVD looks perfect.
I have a Sharp Aquos 46" 1080p. The signal shows as 1080p coming from the PS3. I noticed that I was watching an upconverted regular DVD and it stated the image was 1080p... I thought upconverted was 1080i? I REALLY want to square away the PS3 so I can enjoy my BDs. Tips? Can someone do something like "go here and here and here and tell me what setting it's at," etc.? Thanks! This is really driving me crazy. :( |

Well, EVERY BD I've tried has been grainy. They all can't be supposed to be grainy. Tell me some movies that are supposed to be grain-free and I'll see if I have it.

I'm not sure but it should certainly look more along the lines of:
http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/4...mhddvd2zo0.jpg Than: http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...D/110b0ff9.png (Stolen from AVSForum) The grain is slightly distorted in the HD shot since I turned it into a JPG (the PNG was over 10mb) but that would seem to be a slightly above average level of grain. Your HDs should be in line with that (or less), did you try POTC:COTBB? |
