HD-A3/A30/A35 Owners! Want a Star Trek Phaser Remote?
You may or may not be aware, but Toshiba/Paramount are having a promotion that if you purchase a 3rd gen HD-DVD player, and the new release of "Star Trek: The Original Series Season 1 Remastered" on HD-DVD/DVD combo, you can get a Phaser remote for your HD DVD Player!!
Details of the promo:

With the DeepDiscount sale on now, you can get the set for about $100.

For starters: fuck this combo release. A higher MSRP for a single movie on combo format is bad enough, but now Paramount shoves a bigger stick up our ass with this? This set shouldn't be so pricey, DD's 20% not withstanding. I think it would be cool to have a phaser remote, but in all honesty I don't really think I need to rebuy TOS in HD. The DVD sets looked marvelous and the new CG effects, while not so bad, aren't really necessary either.

You must purchase the dvd player within a certain time. All of us who already own one or haven't purchased one in November and beyond will be left out.

Another pissing match. OP, could you rename the thread so that people seeing it will know that it has something to do with Star Trek on HD? I'm sure that it will get more attention that way.

I'd love to, but the forums won't let me edit the title
