Beowulf & Grendel anyone?

I just ordered this through the JR.com deal. I've never seen it before so my questions are two-fold. How's the movie and how's the transfer?

Dunno about the transfer (as I only have it on DVD) but the movie is good, though... peculiar. It's like watching a "True Story" version of the tale of Beowulf and his battle with Grendel. They even change what the dragon was (though this is only alluded at the end of the film). Also, the film has an odd habit of having its characters express themselves with modern expressions at random ocassions. It's definitely an acquired taste.
