I jumped on the A3 + 3 free instantly deal as well. Here's what I got:

- 300 and Bourne Identity (in box)
- Transformers, Knocked Up, and Troy: Director's Cut (instantly)
- The Italian Job, The Thing, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Frighteners, Darkman (5 free mail-ins)

So in one weeked I go from being on the fence about HD to buying a player, getting 5 movies right then, and 5 more on the way. Cannot beat that!

Just picked up the A2 last week (LOVE IT!!), and although I told myself I would NOT double-dip on titles I already own, that's all I've been able to do because of the selection. So in less than a week, I'm already up to 10 titles.

Brokeback Mountain
Corpse Bride
Batman Begins
Dreamgirls
Phantom of the Opera
Transformers
Flags of Our Fathers
King Kong
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Mission Impossible 3

Shrek 3 will be my first not-previously-owned title. At this rate, not only am I feeding my *new* addiction, but I'm doing my part to help HD-DVD earn a victory this upcoming holiday season.

I didn't buy any of the ones on special at Wal-Mart. I did stop at Gamestop and found King Kong for $9.99. I also got Miami Vice at the Pawn Shop for $8.00.

Um,HDDVD works through HDMI only.If you are hooked through component you won't see a difference.

...Yes he will. HD DVD will look better then DVD using even Composite connections. However, HDMI is what you want, followed by Component.

HD through component is fine (and IMO virtually indistinguishable from HDMI). Dunno about the composite comment, except that HD color is better, but I think the composite outs of an HD player are NTSC spec color so that doesn't make sense.

He said composite when he meant component.
