Tim, when starting a thread to answer a question it's traditional to add "?" to your subject line. Others may see your title and assume that you're announcing Starman on HD, not asking about Starman on HD.

True, Warner did release Excalibur, but it is funny that you mention that particular title, since IIRC that was one of the ones that have been singled out that literally just sold a couple hundred copies. Also Warner is pretty much the only studio willing to release older titles right now. Starman is a Sony/Columbia title so that will be a Blu-Ray, but they are even stingier with releasing titles before 1990, though they seem to be softening a little with upcoming titles like 20 Million Miles To Earth. I don't mean to squash your hopes, but just giving you some insight on state of catalog releases right now.

It is one of John Carpenter's more successful movies, so I figure we'll see it eventually. At least I hope so. He's one of my favorite directors and so far Halloween (BD) and The Thing (HD) are all that's out (though The Fog is available overseas.)

They don't seem to care about it much, as it is only available in a pan and scan DVD.
Edit: yes, I know it was dual-sided before with both WS and P&S. However, they dropped the WS side so the disc currently available is P&S only.
