Circuit City: buy one Blu-ray get one free (ANY!).

It seems they have a glitch or something in the system right now. Buy any blu-ray movie (not just ones on their list) and get one free. I was able to get Robocop, Surf's Up, 28 Days Later, and Bridge to Terabithia for $63.90. This can't possibly last long. They didn't have a great selection, though. No Fly or Hellboy or any TV sets, but Fox releases for $15 is proper pricing .

Just saw this at AVS. I may have to stop by after work. There are a few Fox titles I'd love to pick up for $15 each.

The "DVD Bargains" forum is reporting that this works for HD DVD as well.

I can confirm the sale. The Circuit City in Vernon Hills runs it. This being said, I spoke with the manager and he noted that there are about 60 or so titles that are included part of it. Fox titles were excluded.

Wow. Is there any way to know which titles work and which ones don't on either format unless you go there and try to check out?

Apparently it's HD DVD as well, not just BluRay.

I can confirm that I just got 28 Days Later BD and Robocop BD for $29.99 total, both Fox titles. I suggest anyone interested in this deal hit their nearest CC today, who knows how long this will last.

Not really, I told the cashier I didn't want them if they rang up full price. I got three BDs and one HD. The total was $55.xx.

My receipt has the SKUs for the four I purchased, plus two of these:

PKG 00000003241B 0.00

I'm assuming that's the B1G1 code.

The CC website sucks. You can sort within the Blu-Ray titles list. The site is slow as hell. Plus none of the ones I picked so far come up as buy on get one free.

My CC had crap. No Fox titles, nothing new in HD DVD. What a waste.

Prices are different in store, I would say about 90% of the titles are $24.99 or $29.99. I checked the website too.

Fox titles work as long as they are $29.99 or less. Many people have gotten 28 Weeks Later and another Fox title (forgot which) for half price. Most of the Fox titles are $34.99, hence why they won't work.

That's funny, I tried A Corpse Bride and Blood Diamond. Both $28.99. No free one at checkout. What a joke.

You need to go to the final steps of the check out. It should ring up.

I don't know if it works online. I'm guessing not, it must be a POS glitch (for all of them to be B1G1, not just the ones previously advertised).

Speed most definitely DOES NOT work with this sale. I will be leaving in a few minutes and will head to Des Plaines. There is a CC there, will try again.

Ahhh, counter-acting the release of Transformers by having BOGOs galore.

Good call BDA, good call.

CC is absolutely horrible in how they have their DVD section arranged! It took me over a half an hour to rifle through the BRs and HD-DVDs. It was worth it because I was able to get Dawn of the Dead and Halloween BRs for $25 plus tax.

Yeah, I've bought 6 Blu-rays vs. 1 Transformers.

i did some reconnaissance at my local circuit city. they actually had a piece of paper that looked like an inkjet printout taped at the top of the blu-ray rack with the list of BOGO titles. they were all $24.99 or $29.99 titles - i'd say about 30 to 40 titles total. i didn't have my cell phone, so i couldn't take a picture of the list, unfortuantely.

there was no indication of a BOGO offer for HD DVDs. i tried to scan a few of them, but the scanner didn't recognize any HD DVDs or BDs that i tried. i didn't have the time or the inclination to take any to an actual check out counter.
