You could always get the Toshiba A2 for under $200 at Walmart if you don't want to drop the $300 on the A3.
I personally can't wait to see Megan Fox and some Transformers fighting in HD
Imagine how bad it would suck if you couldn't skip chapters in this to go to those scenes (like a Lynch flick).

Yup. I got mine for Batman Begins, and Superman Returns. And then all the other amazing movies out there.

I wouldn't get it JUST for Transformers, but there's got to be other titles you'd want to see on HD DVD. Not to mention any of the Toshiba players should be a pretty decent upconverting player if you don't already have one.

Then again, I spent $530 to get Lives of Others in BD, so... yours is a steal in comparison.

I have a PS3 for blueray, and I am trying to hold off on transformers so I can buy an HD-DVD player once I buy an HDTV in the next few months.

Only reason to watch this turd of a film. And just to save the next poster time I'll even add my own:

Oh yeah, I went there. I'm bored at work, live with it.

Personally, I wouldn't go out of my way to see a Michael Bay film. So, I definitely wouldn't buy new hardware to see this film. That said, there are lots of other great titles that you can only get with HD-DVD.

I say yes, buy the A2 ($200) get the 5 free movies, and get Transformers, you won't feel ripped off at all (Granted you have a decent setup).

DO IT. Buy the A2 for cheap, get the 5 free discs and grab Transformers...then you can get all the other GREAT movies currently out or coming soon...the prices are right, there are good offers out there and tomorrow, we'll all be watching Optimus Prime kick some HD ass.

Can't believe you're getting this excited over a Michael Bay movie

Transformers will look great in HD but so does Hot Fuzz, 300, Blood Diamond & Alexander just to name a few. Now is as good a time as any to make the plunge
