do HD / blu-ray discs have forced ads?

forced ads were a huge annoyance with DVDs, I'm assuming the new HD discs are 'classier' products so they don't have the forced ad BS, but I have a feeling I'm wrong.

Regading HD DVD's from Warner...

The earlier Warner discs had the same "Wecome to HD DVD..." promo at the beginning, which can get annoying, especially on the early tv releases (Smallville Season 5) where it was on every disc. However, you can easily FF through it. This promo didn't appear on the Matrix set, so I'm assuming they've since dropped it?

After that the episodes/movie AUTOSTARTS, at least for Warner since they don't have a real main menu.

I wish Warner would have something like what UNIVERSAL does for the opening with the UNIVERSE and the HD DVD / Studio Logo and such... Pretty Neat!

Haven't yet watched a Paramount disc (NEXT is my only one) so I cannot say in regards to that studio.

I thought the new HD formats were 'classier' products and then I noticed they use the same shitty cover art as their DVD releases.

I think most of them can be skipped for now, but seriously, don't count on it being any less of a problem than it was with DVD.

That's one reason why I really want them to get Grindhouse on one disc - so you won't have to deal with that crap before Death Proof.

Disney titles still have the damn anti-piracy ads (I thought the magic of Blu-ray was that it *can't* be pirated), but you can skip past them.

Just watched 28 Weeks Later (Fox), and could not skip past the FBI warning at the beginning. It felt like it was up there for a full minute (probably closer to 10 seconds, but it still felt long).

Forced ads are the look and sound of perfect, people. Don't you like perfection? Don't you want perfection?
