Universal announced they have cancelled "Charlie Wilson's War" on HD-DVD ("Atonement" will be their final HD-DVD). No idea if this mean there will be a Blu-ray in the near future...

'Atonement' Concludes Universal's HD DVD Support
March 03, 2008
Universal Studios Home Entertainment's support of HD DVD finally has an end date of March 18. Ironically enough, the studio most loyal to the now defunct high definition format will close its multi-hundred run of releases with Atonement.
Previously we were led to believe Charlie Wilson's War would bring a close to HD DVD at Universal after the studio had released cover art and disc specs prior to an official title announcement. Now Universal has removed any sign of an HD DVD version of Charlie Wilson's War from their website, passing the last title honors to Atonement.
Universal's decision may have been influenced by Paramount's move last week. Rather than draw out HD DVD for another month or two, Paramount chose to abruptly end their support with Things We Lost in the Fire and Into the Wild on March 4. Other planned HD DVD titles such as Bee Movie, Sweeney Todd, The Kite Runner, The Jack Ryan Collection, There Will Be Blood, and Cloverfield were canceled. It's widely believed all these titles will appear on Blu-ray Disc by this summer.
Universal has dropped no hints as to when they'll announce their first Blu-ray Disc title, other than to say they will be supporting Sony's high definition format and are working on getting titles ready for release. We'll be sure to inform you of the big announcement once it's made.

From an article at videobusiness.com, an excerpt...
The article goes on to quote Sony Pictures Home Entertainment president David Bishop as stating over 100 Blu-ray Disc titles will be released by their studio this year. For reference, only 93 have been released by Sony since the summer of 2006.
Bishop goes on to name some big theatrical releases that will find their way to Blu-ray later this year including The Other Boleyn Girl with Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson, Hancock with Will Smith, and Don’t Mess With the Zohan with Adam Sandler.

Yes, they are still making HD DVD's. Here is some cover art for a couple of UK releases on March 31st. I would love to see "Motorcycle Diaries" in HD.

There's just not enough TV-on-Blu-Ray for my tastes.

And the covers on those last 3 Blu-rays are great. Hell they give Criterion a run for their money.

Rambo III
II & III MSRP at $20 for some nice BD catalog pricing . No such luck for the new one at the usual $40 MSRP

Six new Tartan releases announced for spring/summer:
http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/sh...ray_Slate/1537
Paranoid Park - 4/28
A Tale of Two Sisters - 4/14
I'm a Cyborg - 5/26
Lady Vengeance - 5/26
The Proposition - 6/23
Sky Blue - 6/23
I am PUMPED for The Proposition. Anyone with any interest in modern westerns needs to check this one out. I had feared it wouldn't see an HD release since the DVD came from First Look who haven't done much, but apparently Tartan secured rights for a release.
