A2 + XA2 Owners from Amazon: Hurry Price Drop!!!
I bought the A2 with the 3 discs for 210 during the glitch about a month ago.
The price for the A2 has dropped $9 dollars - email Amazon to get a price adjustment! I emailed it this evening and got a refund within 3 hours.
Drops total price down to about $203!!!

Its not $203, it was $229. For those that got on the deal, your total price was $211 due to the free HD DVD glitch. Therefore if you request a price difference between the 238 price you bought it for and the 229 price, your net cost will drop to $203.

I also had seemingly missed it by a day but apparently the combination of my nicely worded request to have them consider a price adjustment and an understanding Amazon employee was enough to get the credit. Thanks OP!

Thanks to the OP for this! Even though mine shipped on Aug. 31st and I just requested the price difference today, I was able to get $8.90 credited back to my credit card. Took just a minute to write the request, and I had a response within a couple hours.

Thanks for the heads-up. Ordered on 8/27, shipped on 8/31, and just requested and got the refund. So my sweet $210 deal is now a little sweeter for the A2 and 8 HD-DVDs at $200.

Hey, can somebody add the HD-XA2 to the title. I'm getting a credit for $23.91.
Was $557.88. Now $533.97.

A few days ago I was lucky to get the HD-XA2 for $499.99 from Amazon,
they had it for a few hours at that price. Great HD-DVD player btw.

Thanks to the OP. Even at this late date I thought I'd take a stab at a refund, and within minutes they responded with an $18.90 credit (based on the new $219.98 price.
Very impressed with Amazon's CS!

Yes, I have to say, Amazon has the best customer service I've ever experienced.

I fought mightily with some chick in C-Serv for about 10 minutes. This included a hold period while she checked with "a member of the leadership team".
Finally, she came back on the line and told me that a "one-time exception" was being made for me, as I was outside the window of their policy.
I got the refund, but she did her best to make me feel like a miscreant....seems like they don't really apply their policies in a very even-handed manner.

Interesting.
I did mine via email, using the email form on the Amazon site, and the request was handled by a rep who, I'm pretty sure, was sitting at a computer far, far away in a foreign land.
All I asked was if there was "anything they could do," since I knew I was late with the request but I knew the price had dropped a while ago. I didn't ask for anything specific.

Did my second refund based on jeffrey post..got the $10 back within 1 hour. My advice, stick to email customer service, probably being done out of the USA and can't even comphrened all the discounts we got...
So $190 ish for new player + 3 HD DVDs of my choice (went with combos and sold them all) + 5 Free = Total Price = $139ish
