'Superbad' Bound For Blu-ray this December

In late-breaking news, Sony has informed retailers that it's planning a December Blu-ray arrival for the teen blockbuster 'Superbad.'
The sleeper hit of the summer, 'Superbad' has grossed over $120 million at the domestic box office (so far), and is among the most highly-anticipated titles due on high-def this fall. Fans won't have to wait much longer, however, as Sony has just told retailers to expect a December 4 street date for day-and-date Blu-ray and standard-def DVD versions of the film.
Early specs indicate that 'Superbad' will get some serious McLovin' in the extras department, with a two-disc set plus a never-before-seen Unrated cut of the film.
Note that Sony has yet to formally announce the title or issue a press release, so further tech specs remain TBA.
The studio has set a $43.95 MSRP for the Blu-ray.

First title on my Christmas list!
I do hope the theatrical cut is also on the disk. And glad to see it is coming out with a bunch of features instead of a bare-bones release and then an SE in 6 months.

Slightly OT, but...I think it's probably the pricing of HD discs rather than the pricing of HD players that's keeping people away. A lot of people would be willing to drop a few hundred bucks on a piece of home theater equipment, but it's ridiculous to drop $30 on an HD movie when you can get the same thing on DVD for $13.
I love Superbad, but I refuse to pay $30 for one movie.

Could be, but if they price it according to their usual 30% off MSRP, it'd be approximately $30.75 . . .

Another one that goes on the Netflix queue instead of the must-buy list. These studios are making it damn hard for their format to succeed.

Maybe they could have a slipcover or something to hide the naughtiness. Maybe fashion the case after a notebook, with all of the sketches inside . . .
For $43.95 they oughtta be able to come up with some sort of clever packaging idea.

my $25 guess for Superbad is probably off by $2.
