just went to Best Buy to pick this up and was told there was a delay on Warner's end for this. They said maybe this afternoon or tomorrow.
*sigh*

Yeah, there should be a delay because we Warner Bros Store folk have a shitload of DVDs to receive. I'm about to cancel all my orders with Warner. This is ridiculous.

DVD Empire has this listed as 'on order' w/out even a scan of the back cover (which probably means they haven't seen this yet).
I wonder what the screw up here was??

Well, my Best Buy had plenty of copies of the regular director's-cut, and about 10 copies of the lavish box-set, that was way bigger than I thought it would be.

So is there anyone here that didn't like the theatrical cut but enjoyed the new cut? I know there is a divide on Kingdom of Heaven and King Arthur along those lines and was wondering if Troy will be similar since I didn't care for the theatrical version.

No go on finding it at Best Buy in Bend, Oregon either. It appears to be a nationwide issue, at least with this retailer. On a side note, I have to admit that the gift set is might tempting...I just wish it were a gift set with the HD-DVD instead; then I would buy it.

I give up with local retailers.
Went to Best Buy, Target and that other large store that need not be named on this forum. No new HD releases out today, and it has been like this since June in my area.
I'm internet only with regards to HD price/availability from this point forward.

I went to two different Best Buys and both of them did not have Troy in stock for both formats. What is WB thinking screwing up a top tier release like this?

Had mine reserved at Moviestop, and was told that the disc had just made it to the warehouse, and there was a delay. Oh well

Why can't they give HD some love?

This has a list price of $34.99, yet amazingly, Best Buy's website shows a regular price of $24.99. I am in shock. They are actually selling a HD movie that competes with Amazon's pricing.

My local Best Buy had sold out. I'm guessing they had only ordered one copy of the Blu-Ray and it was gone. One of my Wal-marts had only ordered one copy, and my local Circuit City had only one copy.
Michael Corvin, I don't know where you've received your information on the "divide" on Kingdom of Heaven. The director's cut is vastly superior. Many critics put it on their ten best films of the year list, where most found the theatrical cut only average and disappointing. I've not yet met anyone who didn't find the director's cut a far superior film to the theatrical release.
I have also only read very positive reviews about the Director's Cut of "Troy," even from those who didn't care for the film to begin with.

I think I worded my post wrong. What you said is what I meant. People that didn't enjoy the theatrical KoH ended up liking the director's cut. Same with King Arthur. Just wondering if Troy: DC had the same kind of effect.
