RUMOR: Warner Bros. and Wal-Mart offered considerable money to go format exclusive..

Both stories are currently both in the realm of rumor. I just want to make that clear before we start a discussion about it.

Even the DigitalBits, which should be renamed 'We love Blu-ray', concurs with the OP. Toshiba is in talks to give Wal-Mart a large sum of money, same with WB. |
I would love to chip in with Toshiba to pull Warner HD-DVD exclusive.

It would be nice if all movies were available on both formats so that a format could win on its merits instead of from crap like this. If walmart went exclusive, like it or not, it would be a huge push for that format.

I can find my HD-DVD's and I can get Warner titles on HD. So I really don't care how it goes, either way. It still just baffles me how BR backers that have large voices on the net can actually still nit-pick this tactic when Sony has been doing it for a long time already.

My thing is, why aren't either camps going for Best Buy? Best Buy would be the real coup over Walmart. I would never buy any electronics from Walmart to begin with and i'm sure most of you share my sentiment as well. Getting Best Buy would be huge considering how well they are pushing high def.
