Did the walmart near you get rid of there Hd-DVD / Blueray display ?

Went to the Walmart down the street and noticed the Hd-DVD / Blueray display was gone ( it was a square display with two sides of each format about the same size of there $5.00 dvd bin) asked three diffrent people and they all said that walmart discountinued all the hd/blue discs and the displays and they had to send them all back. Anyone know why?

the 3 Walmarts near me haven't carried HD-Dvd or Blu-Ray yet, so no.

EVERYTHING at Walmart is YMMV.

my wal-mart is weird some of the BR discs as stated are in the ps3 case. Some are in the front with the new release and some are in the usual side run with the other dvds why not just a small all in one section. another point you ask some employees if they are gonna carry more titles and they can never give you a straight answer.

There are 2 walmarts near me. 1 had the display (a few days ago) and one had very few on the regular DVD aisle.

There is no display at my Wal-Mart. No HD, and only a half dozen BD in the PS3 display case.

I guess it depends on your definition of low....I picked up Waiting on Blu-ray there for $19.95, which is the same price as Amazon (who seem to typically have the lowest non-sale prices around for HD/BD discs...)

I don't think Walmart has regular "sales" on previously released stuff, only during the first week for new releases....

My Wal-Mart's "HD display" case is a few cases strewn around: 300 in both formats and Ghost Rider in Blu-Ray, literally on the floor of the display case like someone dropped it in there.

The Walmart closest to me used to have an endcap with both formats, but as it's in a small town, apparently no one bought anything (according to one clerk), so they were all sent back. Several other Walmarts in nearby towns have had the endcaps with both formats for nearly a year, and they still have them at this point (and are still adding new releases).

Just came back from Wally and there was 1 copy of 300 BD. Nothing more.

Same with my area. Never sold any HD-DVDs or Blu-Ray discs.

Both stores in my area stock both formats, right down the aisle from new release DVDs. They have 40-50 titles of each format, with prices from 19.99 to 24.99. Not a bad selection and they usually have new releases out on time.

My Wal-Mart doesn't sell HD or Blu-ray @ all.
Any titles that come in they send right back to the companies.
They told me most people will not buy SD over $16.88 let along HD prices.

My Walmart keeps both formats in a section with the regular dvds. It used to be about a 50-50 ratio, but it has gone 75-25 BD in the past couple of months.

I usually never go to Walmart but I had to when I was looking for 300 on BD. I couldn't find a single BD or HD-DVD disc other than 300 which was locked up with PS3 games. They didn't seem to have any stock on either format. I won't be going back.

Mine used to carry a large section of both formats. Unfortunately, they have re-done their entire movie section with new shelving and all HD titles are gone, save for 3-4 BD spots in the new release rack. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

my local WalMart in my small town has only 300 on both HD and BD, but some of the ones in larger cities near me and college towns have an endcap half BD and half HD

My walmart has it's BDs and HD-DVDs behind the glass case with the PS3 stuff. Very limited selection. Less than 5 of each.

I stopped in my local WM this morning and asked if they would be receiving HD titles again. She told me they would be coming before the holiday season. I've read on AVS that most WMs will be receiving new HD DVD/BD setups for Q4.

The Wal-mart in my area has never carried HD DVD or BD. A Target is due to open across the street from Wal-mart on October 16 and I am curious to see if they will carry any HD discs. If so, they would be the first store within 50 miles to have them and Wal-mart would probably follow suit.

Not that I think that either store could ever match the deals that I routinely find on-line.
