This is their last chance as far as I'm concerned with their releases and Blu-Ray. If they pull that shit again they can keep all their titles.

Plus, I would think they would have to let at least one title out into the wild with BD+ before we know if/when it can be cracked.

Damn, talk about taking the good with the bad today. Normally I would be happy to hear something like this, but just not today.

You're right, until they announce the Alien Quadrilogy, I will never be happy!

Now to see if they do things right. If we just get more $39.99 MSRP bare bones discs I will continue to deny the existence of Fox in the HD realm.

And those were NEW releases with HD extras. Fox's Chain Reaction has a list price of $39.99. Should a barebones version of Chain Reaction have a higher list price than Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End?

I think that Fox should accept the fact that video piracy will always exist in some form.

12 for me it looks like. I just lost six from Paramount, so really I only need to budget an additional six.

MASTER & COMMANDER OCT. 2
EDWARD SCISSORHANDS OCT. 9
28 DAYS LATER OCT. 9
F4:2
DIE HARD 1-4 NOV.
MR. AND MRS. SMITH DEC. 4
INDEPENDENCE DAY DEC. 4
CAST AWAY DEC. 4
RONIN (MGM) DEC. 4

I may pass on a few of the aforementioned titles if Fox pulls their $40 bare bones BS again. I'll also pick up Die Hard 4 if Fox releases an R-rated cut.

I wouldn't bother with 28 Days Later, since it was shot on 480p video.

That is a really odd choice.

I'll pick up all four Die Hard movies for sure. Maybe Bridge of Britain and A Bridge Too Far. I'm interested in some of the other movies too, but I'd like to wait for an announcement of price and features first and maybe even some reviews.

I'm hoping that the listing for 28 Days Later is a mistake, and they actually mean 28 Weeks Later. As mentioned above, except for the last few minutes of the movie, 28 Days Later was shot on Standard-Def video and won't benefit at all from an HD transfer.

Would there at least be an audio benefit from a lossless track?

Would you pay $40 just for that with no HD video? Especially if Fox continues to use DTS-HD MA, which currently can't be decoded.

No, not for 28 Days Later. I'm just trying to surmise why they might release it on BD.

And hopefully they'll drop DTS-HD MA in favor of PCM or TrueHD. Regardless of extras, I'm willing to pay for Fox's releases if they have great transfers and lossless audio, just as I am willing to pay that for Paramount, Universal and WB's $40 titles.

Can you explain better? Does HD have more DRM than BR?

That's quite a big line-up with good summer titles in there for FOX to back out yet again.

I see Pathfinder pictured there as well. That hasn't been mentioned yet.

I just hope Fox lowers their prices. I would buy a good chunk of those if Fox lowers their catalog MSRPs to $30. If not, I'll buy them used or wait for an Amazon sale.

I'm hoping they'll go the same route they did with Alien vs. Predator and have both cuts via seamless branching. There's really no reason why they shouldn't.
