The Host Blu Ray - Region 1??

I picked up the Blu Ray of The Host. I was reading the back earlier and noticed it says it's Region 1 - which of course is for DVD region coding, not Blu ray. I'm assuming they used the same back cover art, but it does have all of the BD stuff such as DTS-HD, etc.

I'm just wondering why they would have DVD region coding the disc, even they even do have it. Seems like an experiment gone bad by even bothering to code BD's.

It's not the first Blu-ray to have region 1 on it, And from what I have read it is allregion.

Blu-Ray regions actually have two labels. The regions are A/1, B/2, C/3. The discs can use either the letter or the number designation.

The code on the back of The Host is the DVD Region 1 label then even says NTSC below it. Seeing how NTSC is not an issue with Blu Ray, I know it's not meant to categorize as such. I actually haven't seen what the Region A, B, C logos look like. Also, in checking with my other BD's, Crank and The Descent also have region 1 DVD logos.

I just got it to review today. I'm dying to watch it, so I should have a report soon.

I can confirm that it is region free, I lent my copy to a friend with a UK (Region B) PS3 and it played fine
