Didn't get Darkman, Frighteners and The Thing. I knew I wouldn't so I bought them last week.

It's half.com for Bulletproof and Doom. I haven't seen either and have no desire to. Looks like I can get a few bucks at half, even with the slashes.

My top four was exactly the same as yours. I debated with myself between The Italian Job and Babel and chose the former when I was able to pick up the latter cheap before I sent in my rebate form.

But following this thread I could see that no one had been getting Darkman, The Frighteners or The Thing for many weeks which was why I decided to buy them while they were still available. That turned out OK.

One thing we later people did get lucky on was getting the remastered version of FMJ because apparently they ran out of the old one.

Mine were supposedly shipped 3 months ago, but never arrived. I've spent over an hour on hold today.

Anyone have luck with an email or snail-mail address to deal with missing rebate titles?

Still haven't gotten anything yet (sent away early November), though a rep said my package was finally mailed on March 12th. They'd probably be here by next week or so, except they mailed them to my old address. I even called back in December/January to confirm that they had my new address on file!

So I'm not getting my hopes up, but maybe it'll be forwarded properly in the next few weeks. With all this talk of substitute titles, though, sounds like I'll get more of a grab bag than anything else. Wouldn't mind "Out of Sight" or the new version of "Full Metal Jacket" in place of one of the craptacular titles I settled for, but not getting "The Thing" is a pretty big bummer.

Just got off the phone (answered on second ring!). My order is Processing - Still. that's about all I could get out of her. At least I know its been received and she confirmed my address.

From the sound of things I best order my a copy of The Thing whilst I still can! (Just in case).

yeah....i just ordered Frighteners from EzyDVD as it's a 6.92 title there...going to have to try and find a deal for The Thing too. Those were the only two i really wanted. Doesn't sound like i'll get Charlie or Darkman either...maybe Italian Job. I already bought FMJ and that seems to be one most are getting.

these are all titles you see a ton of on ebay, but no one ever mentions the upc being slashed/burned etc. wonder how many like that are sold as "new"

People do the same shit on Half.com. Just mention it and not be shady about it. Heck you can't even order a copy of Talladega Nights BD from Half.com since most of them listed are actually the stupid PS3 copy and not the unrated that is shown and the UPC is listed for.

I was going to order an HD-dvd version of "The Thing" since I probably won't get it in my 5 free. I have decided to wait now since it was announced that Universal will be putting it out soon on Blu-ray. At least now I know it won't be considered "out of print" on a HD media. It lessens the urge to "buy it before it's gone".

I put Bulletproof and Doom on half.com and did mention the slashed UPCs and that they were part of a promotion. Doom has sold.

Italian Job and Harry Potter didn't have slashes. I already have Harry Potter, so I may see if I can find some place (maybe Wal-Mart) to take it back to. I really don't care about the rest of them, so I might sell them (not sure). If I take them to some place that sells used HD DVDs, they would probably give me the same amount whether they were open or not, so I probably should just watch them before I do that. But I'm afraid places will stop taking them before I get them watched.

I was happy to get my discs today, I mentioned before that I wasn't sure if I was going to get it since I got an open box XA2 for under $250 at Best Buy, with 3 free movies instantly with purchase. A couple weeks ago, I get a $50 gift card from BB, and now today I get 5 movies.

Received: Babel, Full Metal Jacket (remastered), Jarhead (instead of Darkman?), Dante's Peak (instead of Frighteners?), and Bulletproof (instead of Pitch Black?).

I already own Dante's Peak, and have no interest in Bulletproof, but I did get 2 that I wanted, and Jarhead is a decent movie to own, so overall I'm pleased.
