Why Columbia House will help HD-DVD over Blu-ray
Why Columbia House will help HD-DVD over Blu-ray
I'm format neutral. I like both and have both. But this will be a advantage for HD-DVD.
Columbia House in the next month will start rolling out there HD titles
two titles are now availible
300 and Blades Of Glory
they will be carrying on
HD-DVD
Warner
Universal
Paramount
Weinstein Company
Blu-ray
Warner
Paramount
Sony-owned Columbia Tri-Star
But there will be no Fox, also as far as I know no MGM titles by Fox either
And no Disney or Buena Vista Home Entertainment
So what does that mean almost all HD-DVD title will be available while less then half will be available on Blu-ray.
Once the online crowd see's that option don't be surprised if the tilt goes toward HD-DVD.
People my age use columbia house like crazy.

Your analysis makes sense to me! You must be some kind of rocket scientist or something to figure this stuff out! I think Heroes Season 1 will be a huge seller. It will be available only on HD-DVD. That will cause a whole bunch more of the HD-players to be sold!

I recently bought a HD-DVD player (the only HD player I could afford for the time being) in anticipation of CH finally carrying HD. I would be very happy if this was true as I'm hoping to get as many HD-DVD titles as CH will carry. Blu-ray, I hope to get into when their players are more affordable. Still, on the Blu-ray end, I would have liked to pick up some Sony (Casino Royale, Rocky Balboa) and Buena Vista (Pirates of the Caribbean) but sadly, they will not be available through CH it appears.
