The forum is not called "HD Talk - US Releases Only". The forum you want to move the thread to, however, is called "International DVD". The discs in question are not DVDs.
This forum is the most appropriate location for that discussion. That forum would be inappropriate.

International HD discs belong in the International forum. HD is more than just HD or BD as well - we talk about HD broadcast and technology here too. You missed that as well. HD-DVD is built on DVD architecture. Not only that, both formats would certainly fall under the category of "digital versatile discs". In addition, HD and BD are the recognized successors to, you guessed it Josh, DVDs.
You are wrong that this is the proper forum, it's not. A separate thread in this forum, I'd have no objection to. Adam, the moderator, made the decision, and I agree with it, so it's doesn't make any difference whether you or I agree. It's done, and it appears that forum management agrees with me.

bd is not an extension of dvd and is not appropriate for a forum with that title. not that there is an "international forum" anyway. there is an "international dvd forum". and there is an hd forum. clearly one is not for anything but dvd, while the other is for highdef. seems fairly clear. as the market expands the admins may want to add a new international highdef forum to sit alongside the highdef forum.

There's already a thread for int'l BD.

I'm glad that there is. There's hardly any point in arguing about it anymore, it's already done.

I'm going to end the conversation on my end out of respect for Adam's comment above. We'll just agree to disagree.

I also find it ironic that you are poking at my slang use of "international forum" when you don't capitalize a single word in your post. What a silly thing to do.

Please either stop the international argument since a decision has been made (at least as things stand now) or take it to the Feedback forum.

I don't think Walmart ever carried Sony Blu-Ray players, but I guess they are now. Also, $488 is not the cheapest price as their own Sam's Club sells the BDP-300 for $448.

Wal-Mart Offers New Blu-ray Player/Disc Bundle

Attention Wal-Mart shoppers: In the latest high-def bundle deal to hit retail, the big box discount chain is giving away two Blu-ray discs to consumers who buy Sony's BDP-S300 Blu-ray Player at a new low price.
Wal-Mart's price for the Sony player is $488, which represents a new low price record for a Blu-ray player (both the BDP-S300 and the PS3 are available elsewhere for $499).
To further sweeten the pot, Wal-Mart is also throwing in two free Blu-ray discs with purchase of the BDP-S300 -- 'Gridiron Gang' and 'Open Season,' both from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Combined with the BDA's recently announced "Five Discs Free" promo, that's a total seven free Blu-rays for lucky Wal-Mart shoppers.
The latest deal from Wal-Mart follows a similar promotion at Amazon, tied to the PS3. As we reported earlier this week, that deal sees Amazon customers buying the PS3 receiving a free PS3 Blu-ray remote, a copy of 'Memento' on Blu-ray, plus the BDA's five free discs.
Wal-Mart is offering this promotion to customers online at Walmart.com and in its stores nationwide. The company says the offer is limited and only good while supplies last.

Something tells me this is going to be a reference-quality disc.
Is it too much to hope for that we get at least some of the extras from the awesome Criterion LD?

Lol I just saw the new thread and came here...I completely missed all your questions above
Sorry!
Anyhow I actually read the news on one of the Danish forums (where they also had the UK disc at PLAY listed). Mr. Cinema is also correct.
On a somewhat related note, 12 Monkeys is coming out on BR in German/Swiss territories on September 3 courtesy of Concorde.
