James Bond on Blu-Ray-soon?

Okay. The only reason I have not also bought a Blu-Ray player is that the only reason I would do so is to own the Bond series, which I know will only be available through Blu-Ray as Sony owns the rights. I did a search and found no mention of this anywhere. I sold my old collection this past summer intending to buy the new deluxe sets this past fall, but didn't due to financial reasons. I would love to have it, but refuse if they will soon be available in the best format possible, which I think this series deserves.

I may be completely wrong on this, but here's a guess. I believe MGM owns the rights to all the old films, but Fox currently distributes all MGM's stuff. Now Fox, like Sony,is currently Blu-Ray exclusive. But unlike Sony, Fox really isn't releasing anything. And it may be a while before they really do get moving on that. So one will probably have to wait a while for Bond on Blu Ray, save of course Casino Royale.

Correct. We need to wait until Fox releases BD's again before we can even consider seeing James Bond come out. Sony has nothing to do with the Bond films made before Casino Royale, unless you count Never Say Never Again.

So I guess you're saying I should just go ahead and purchase what's available now?

They are definitely going to release all the big movies on hi-def. It's just a matter of when. If you are ready to jump in and there are other titles you want, go ahead, there are some great deals now.

NSNA is also Fox/MGM.
