Download Hd

Are you able to download HD content off the internet and watch it at 1080p?

Someone on another board is saying they are downloading Planet Earth at 1080 and are able to watch it in HD, this possible?

Illegally it's possible.

Well, yes, but Planet Earth would be in the realm of pirating. I know some people download a bunch of trailers from Apple in HD and put them on a disc to watch but I think it was a little complicated - I never fooled with it.

There's plenty of 1080P content out there... sort of.

www.apple.com/trailers

and

www.windowsmedia.com

to get you started.

The PS3 has the Sony store online where you can download trailers in 1080P

When you're out in civilization, you usually get a few perks: running water, cable internet, etc. It takes me a few minutes, at most, to download a 1080P trailer. Some demos on the 360 that are 1GB or so I can also get in a relatively short amount of time (20 minutes).

You can download HD content from the Xbox Live Marketplace but it's only 720p.

Trailers, and pr0ns are available in HD. But for pr0ns they are mostly 720p and because there are only few pr0nmaker who can shoot good picture they're not that much of an improvement anyway.

Well, trailers and demos are small files, so sure. But something like Planet Earth in HD, which is 11 hours, would take longer to download than to watch, even on the fastest cable internet (in this country, anyways - there are countries - such as South Korea - which have far faster internet than we do). We're still a few years away from making larger HD downloads convenient.

I have downloaded large HD content. It's very possible.
