Just ordered one for 19.99. It;s really weird, the page loaded once and it came up full price of 79.99 but then when I went to the page to type in my credit card info, etc. it was back at 19.99.

My reciept also says 19.99. If this deal goes through i'm still picking this up at Best Buy for 79.99 so I can get 2 free HD DVD's then I will sell one of my matrix copies for like 50 bucks to help someone out if they want this at a cheaper price. Thanks OP.

I just hope CC doesn't end up charging those of us that got it for $19.99 the full price later. I would think they'd have to let us know.

RocShemp 05-21-07 07:53 AM

I think they can only cancel the order and issue the old "sorry for the price error" statement.

Mopower 05-21-07 08:01 AM

They won't charge you the full price. I don't think that's legal.

JackBurton 05-21-07 08:01 AM

In the past CC has been pretty good about honoring price mistakes. Some may recall an enormous one a few years back that included season sets of Alias, Magnum P.I., American Dreams, Clerks X, The Lady Killers and tons of others. To my knowledge, most people's orders went through.

Of course, their policy may have changed since then.

Looks like this deal is dead now.

That would be pretty amazing, considering that the format died off before either of the 2 Matrix sequels were even made.

I'd be psyched if that were somehow true. :D

Supermallet 05-21-07 11:11 AM

I would go nuts if WB released the Matrix collection on laserdisc. :D

Raw_and_Vital 05-21-07 11:57 AM

When will we know if this goes through. about friday?

dvd182 05-21-07 12:03 PM

With many people choosing express shipping, I'd be surprised if there wasn't a resolution to this by the end of the day.

edstein 05-21-07 12:29 PM

Shit! I forgot to go with express shipping. Oh well, fingers crossed.

RocShemp 05-21-07 12:34 PM

I wasn't given an express shipping option (I assume because I live in Puerto Rico), so I had to go with standard. I hope I get my set. :(

I went with standard too, no big deal i get it that would rock, if not no big deal I will get it eventually, sooner and cheaper than later and more expensive would be better though. :)

CKMorpheus 05-21-07 01:03 PM

Is it possible to update my shipping choice before it ships?

Mopower 05-21-07 01:11 PM

I checked my credit card and was charged around $22.00. And it says it will ship on the 21st so they'd better get to work if it's going to get canceled.

KnightLerxst 05-21-07 01:14 PM

You know what I went ahead and ordered the set on the off chance it would go through. If it does I will actually buy an HD-DVD player and go format neutral.

hoping to go 2 for 2 between this and the Deepdiscount mispricing of Coming to America HD :fc:

These are stuff that "What's the greatest bargain you've ever found?" are made out of.

Way back in the day I stumbled across the Spinal Tap Criterion WAY after it went OOP, which I did share here. I felt like a king after sharing the deal, lol. Everyone said it would end up being the standard version DVD, but when it arrived...Criterion!

Mercury&Solace 05-21-07 05:38 PM

No update from my end. Then again it takes forever for my credit card company to register a purchase.

Mercury&Solace 05-22-07 11:52 AM

From 6am Sunday morning, May 20th, until 9am May 21st, a system error caused the price for the Matrix Trilogy HD to display incorrectly. The correct price is $79.99. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

This is stated under the DVD on the CC website. Does this mean they are not honoring the $19.99 price? Any confirmations yet?

edstein 05-22-07 12:45 PM

My credit card was charged $22.73 today.

Yeah me too. Where the hell could they even get them manufactured at this point?

JayDerek 05-22-07 01:17 PM

i just talked to a CC phone rep today - my account says shipping in progress (has said this for a day). Rep said it was probably shipped yesterday but they have no tracking # ( i paid for express ) and if i don't see it by tomorrow, i should call them back. My card hasn't been charged yet (but sometimes it takes a day or two to register).

I'm still really shocked they just didn't cancel these orders...

When I know more, i'll post

Users on some other sites are reporting shipping notices, so here's hoping for some of us here at dvdtalk...
