At least one of the monoprice HDMI switchers is known to have problems with the PS3. And I presume that if it's difficult for Dave to switch cables, it would be equally difficult to use a manual switcher.

Monoprice just confirmed that this switcher has issues with the PS3 depending on the TV it is hooked up to. They offered to exchange it with a 4x1 switch they have started making that hasn't had any issues. Fantastic service. Hopefully this solves all the problems, and it is even remote controlled so it will work with the universal remote.

That's good news. Monoprice gets better and better every day.

dave - which receiver did you end up buying?

Yeah, I have the 3x1 w/remote and never had a problem with it.

Sean at monoprice was very nice to me.

Glad you're finally, almost, just about, any day now, able to actually use your PS3.

I thought about getting the switcher, but the wife gives dirty looks when I mention anything related to the HT lately (even as cheap as they can be had on monoprice)... I cant blame her, and I dont mind switching the cord as with my set-up at this point its actually really easy. I probably will get a switch though when I finally figure out a solution to all my damn cords.

Yes, when I first got my PS3, I HAD to use something other then HDMI to do the set up. In fact I updated firmware before switching to HDMI. Then everything worked perfect.

I'm usin the monoprice 5 X 1 switcher. I bought mine about a week before there new 4 X 1 came out. After reading about the switcher, I hooked the ps3 into port 5. I have never had a problem. I'm using a HD70 projector. Other things on the switcher are an an old Voom box for OTA HD and Bravo D1.

No problems using my 880 on everything!

BTW, I stack my components, but of course you cannot stack anything on top of the PS3 due to design. However it also can stand on vertical. So I have it that way right now and it works well!

Finally watched my first show, Casino Royale. What a butthole....everyone else knows how to play, but Bond continueally splashes the pot.

Anyway, I will say that it starts up a lot nicer than the A1. Got the remote, but after playing with the controller, that would have been fine.

880 remote is online, but I need to get use to it. Too many control screens for each device.

New receiver is good, but -30 on my old volume was much louder than -30 on this one. Not a big deal, as it is plenty loud, but the Spinal Tap in me is pissed.

Thinking of getting an HDMI switch from monoprice and since there's a wealth of experience in here, I just want to confirm that you guys are having success with the HS-41AO model (product 2721). It's the only 4x1 I see and has the latest revision version so I assume it is, but just want to make sure.

kvrdave 05-09-07 03:33 PM

I have mine, but haven't had time to hook it up. I will be this weekend for sure.
