I've been hearing that Clerks II on HDDVD won't play on the 360 HDDVD drive. Do you HAVE to get a firmware update , because my 360 isn't hooked up to live. If any of you have it and know if it plays or not it would help to know , as I am planning on buying it.


Note: I have already installed the regular fall update before I got the HDDVD drive , when I had it in my bedroom hooked up to the internet.

i didn't have to update.
the problems are mostly layer transitions.

Just finished watching it on my XBox 360 add on. No problems. Great movie.

You may come across the "age" where it wont allow you to play it because of the parental controls. I will warn you though that if you DONT update your 360 you may have problems with discs that you wouldnt otherwise have. THe spring update is going to fix the audio problems that many of us have had as well. So you dont HAVE to but it is recommended HIGHLY

Hooked up with Ethernet. Played Clerks II tonight. Keeping it that way.

Finally watched it on the weekend. First 2 times I tried it, I got a brief "parental control screen" which had lines across it. After that it would just reboot to the xbox menu screen. The 3rd time I tried it, it worked fine.

Same thing happened to me, on the third try, the disc worked fine
