This is a Paramount title, so it should be available on both formats that day along with The Warriors: Ultimate Director's Cut.

Yeah, now if they'd only get around to releasing that series about those astronauts who are on some kind of star trek.

You should change the title of the thread to "available on both formats", you might freak out some HD-DVD owners.

Paramount Annouces Four New Blu-ray And HD DVD Catalog Titles

March 20, 2007

Paramount Home Entertainment has announced four catalog titles that will be released simultaneously on Blu-ray and HD DVD this summer.

'Freedom Writers' starring Scott Glenn and Hilary Swank will be available May 22, 'Hustle & Flow' on June 26, and 'The Untouchables (Special Collector's Edition)' and 'The Warriors (Ultimate Director's Cut)' on July 3. Specifics for each release are not yet available though you can safely assume extras found on the standard DVDs will all be ported over.

Check back in the days and weeks ahead for pre-order information and high resolution cover art.

Remember, this is the new "graphic novel tweaked" version of "The Warriors" with the comic book panels inserted. I got used to it but grew up on the original.
I actually just watched some of it the other nite and the DVD looked great. The BD should look pretty stellar.
The furies chase The Warriors right by the window of my NYC apt! (100th st off riverside drive)

So Dreamworks and Paramount are working pretty closely with future HD plans?

The Warriors is one of my faves of all time but there's no way I'm buying that crappy re-edited version.

I got used to it and actually like some of the tweaks like the slow zooms they did on previously static shots. The comic book thing, they might have been thinking Sin City but it looked more like Creepshow....
Any rumors on American Beauty...?

More than anything, I just hate the way it ends. I miss the old shot of them walking down the beach at Coney Island as the end credits play with "In The City".

I'm probably one of the few people who went to New York City for the first time and headed straight for the Wonder Wheel. I had to see it in person after all those years watching the film growing up.
