Blade Runner on HDNet this month

I don't know if HDNet has played Blade Runner before (it's the director's cut), but it's playing this month and it looks pretty fantastic. They've actually got a pretty stellar month all around. Blade Runner, A Man For All Seasons, The Lion In Winter, West Side Story, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some. This is easily the best channel on TV.

HDNet is my favorite channel, always a great selection of movies each month. Looking at April, there is a perfect mix of classics (American Graffiti, Apocalypse Now, Dog Day Afternoon, West Side Story, Five Easy Pieces, etc) and guilty pleasures (Missing In Action, Death Wish, St. Elmos Fire, Iron Eagle, etc) and stuff in-between (Top Gun, Longest Yard, Patriot Games, Witness)

same here, I plan on watching this either tonight or tomorrow night, cause my DV-R has such little space.

I know at one point HDNet was trying to work out a deal to feature 20 Century Fox movies - have no idea if this is happening or not

They have, back in 2005. It's actually what got me to get HD cable. I've been sitting on that HD recording for a long time.

To my eyes it definitely looks sharper than the new DVD. Can't wait to have a proper HD disc of the film.

The last version I got of this was the Criterion laserdisc. Hopefully my long wait will be rewarded soon.

I watched it a few weeks ago. I wanted to burn my SD-DVD afterwards, that's how much better it looked in HD. That HD-DVD multidisc set can't get here soon enough.
