HDMI Switcher Problem
I didn't really know if any existing thread was the right place for this, so I'm starting a new one.
I just purchased a 5x1 HDMI switcher with remote from monoprice. I've plugged my HD-A1 and PS3 into it, and then fed it into the TV. The HD-A1 gives me an HDMI Error on any input except the 5th, and the PS3 won't give me any picture at all (but the TV is recognizing that it's getting fed a 1080p signal). Anyone have any idea what's going on with this? I'm using a Sony KDL-40V2500.
Edit: As it turns out, even the 5th input won't give me a stable connection, as it cuts out after a few minutes. I went to Monoprice's website, and it specified that slot 5 will work with the PS3, except that it isn't working, and it won't help me if slot 5 is the only one that will work with the HD-A1.

Your edit hits the nail on the head - this is faulty hardware that MP knows about. Believe it or not, that $25 cheap 2x1 switcher works every time, while the fancier ones have been problematic.
Your specific model seems like its defective, however. You may try booting the PS3/A1 fully THEN switching over to the input on your TV. This seems to help with HDCP errors.
