Not a fan...

Only saw the first one and it didn't impress me. I was confused as all hell...but once it ended, just thought it was over-rated. Not a huge sci-fi fan.

And Kubrick is ok...from what I've seen, but again, not my style.

The Matrix is very derivative of other sci-fi, so understanding it was never a problem for me.:) Now the sequels, those were a mess. About halfway through the Architect scene, my head was spinning.

Ugh. Matrix is easily the most overrated series of movies in history. I hated all three of them though I never finished the third one.
I will be buying the Kubrick films though. Hopefully the transfers will live up to the format.

I am looking forward to:

Matrix
300
Ocean's Eleven (2001)
The Shining
The Wizard of Oz

Hopefully, these all get released in the USA around the same time, so that people do not have to import them.

hahaha...you should be happy. You're going to get Se7en, The Game and Zodiac on HD DVD in one year.

Wonder what will happen with Panic Room and Fight Club on BD? ;)

Shannon Nutt 01-29-07 11:23 AM

I'm going to assuming Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix will also becoming in November, alongside those other Harry Potter titles - since Phoenix is a summer 2007 release. Hopefully, there will be some kind of boxed set here in America.

No. I mistyped. Don't get your panties all up in a bunch about it.

LA Confidential!

Glad to see some HD DVD exclusives. I like the war!

Mr. Cinema 01-29-07 12:03 PM

With the recent 2-disc of The Green Mile on dvd, I certainly hope the HD DVD counterpart is released this year. How different are the release dates between the US and other regions? That will suck if we have to wait until November, again, for the Harry Potter movies.

They're more than likely only temporary exclusives, and even then, they may just be HD DVD exclusive in Europe. We'll have to wait and see what happens.

Probably exclusives until BD can get BD-J to work.

I'd be very surprised if Fox didn't release Fight Club on Blu-ray this year. That's actually one advantage of the format war. Studios can counter each other with a director's films.

Just a few things...

Someone doesn't like the movies you like, so be it. No reason to hate.
I'm glad to see more IME's scheduled for release even though they may/may not be for a N.American release. Wasn't it Warner Bros that said they would wait until BD-J was up and working before releasing anymore IME's in the States?
Lastly, quit this nasty talk 'bout men wearing silk panties.

Err, you guys didn't say silk did you...shit.

By, no doubt, dropping ALL of the extras from the 2 disc edition ;)

 how true, for the sake of upgrading, all this exclusion, seems like a dramatic step backwards for home video in general.

Including the 4 commentaries. And they'll charge $39.99 list price for the sucker. Sad thing is, we're only half-joking. This could very well happen.

Centurion 01-29-07 01:04 PM

There isn't enough room on a Bluray disc to fit extras. :brickwl2:

And i was pissed about dropping a commentary for the DTS version :)

DVD Josh 01-29-07 01:35 PM

I wouldn't even upgrade if it didn't have all the extras from fight club. One of my favorite movies of all time.

Supermallet 01-29-07 02:02 PM

All I have to say is I can't believe I have to wait until fucking DECEMBER to get those Kubrick films.

I plan on rewatching this for the '1st Annual Academy Award Movie Challenge' with one of the commentary tracks - which one should I listen to??

and they had the gual to not include 'Barry Lyndon' - I'm still spitting needles that my DV-R didn't record the HDNet Movie airing.
