I've decided that I'm going to get BD later this year, but I'm not crazy about any of the BD players out right now. And I know the PS3 is great, but I rater just have a stand alone player. So do any of you guys know what the upcoming BD players are for this year, and what the buzz is around them? Thanks.

And for anyone who cares, the reason why I'm going to get BD even though I already have HD DVD is I just can't stand missing out on so many movies that I love anymore. And now the BD has gotten much better in quality, I think it's worth the purchase. HD DVD is still my favorite format, but the studio support thing is killing me.

Save for the supposed upcoming Samsung G2 player, there are no other standalones scheduled for release at the moment.

And that will be a whopping $100 cheaper.

If you're really looking for a player and you don't want to spend an arm and a leg, it's either a refurbed machine or the PS3.

Okay, thanks guys. I really appreciate the quick responses. No wonder I was having such a hard time trying to track down upcoming players. lol.

Well, apparently if you have a working PS2 and are interested in a PS3, you can get a $100 credit towards one with a trade-in at Gamestop or EB Games.

bttt

I'm looking at possibly picking up the Samsung 1200 this weekend. Any thoughts on this particular player? I'll be using it with an Optoma HD70 and an Onkyo TXSR800(soon to be replaced) and I already have a Toshiba HDXA1.

It uses the HQV processor, so the upscaling should be very good for dvds. For me to buy that particular machine, the price point would have to be around $500, similar to the X-A2.

Well I'm gonna get BB to price match Dell. ~$600 plus 18 months no interest.
