Wolf Creek won't load...
I've yet to have an HD-DVD that wouldn't play in my A1 with 2.0 but tonight that changed. We went to watch the Wolf Creek disc that I got with a gift card on Target.com tonight and it loaded slowly, detected the HD-DVD, went to PLAY on the unit's display, then sat there with a black screen. After a couple of tries it always did the same thing. Is this the typical scenerio when you get a bad pressing or is there a known issue with this title? I stuck Perfect Storm in and it's working fine.

It's some kind of mastering problem.
My copy was the same way. A couple other titles from The Weinstein Company were similarly afflicted.

Thanks for the information. I'm left scratching my head about trying for replacement or refund. Are most people just sitting on their discs hoping for a fix? The handful of consumers seemed like an odd comment to me.

I'm in the same boat....I had read about the WC discs that were problematic..but went ahead and ordered 3. Scary Movie 4 worked no problem. The Matador and Wolf Creek at best give me some shit about 'parental control settings' on my 360. Usually I just get a black screen.
This is some major bullshit.
Do I just send them back? Or has the problem been corrected w/ new pressings?

My rental copies of WOLF CREEK and THE MATADOR both took about 4 times longer than normal to begin playing, but they did work fine after the long start up time.
Have you tried waiting a little longer?

I've waited for at least 5 minutes on each. Should I hold out longer?
(I've already set up the return process to both amazon and dvdplanet)
They should just recall these sumbitches!

Chronos took a really, really long time to load on my A1 as well. At first I thought it was a problem with my player and actually ejected it and gave up the first couple of tries. I just left it in a while the next time I tried it and the disc eventually started.
