I e-mailed Tony yesterday to add Reign of Fire to my Equilibrium order and they both shipped early today. :)

Id love to get Reign of Fire, but I might wait and see the reviews of the BD version.

Any good reviews of the import??

I ordered Running Scared and Total Recall from him though. Should have them soon.

Im also planning to get Stargate, T2 and Le Pacte De Loups from him (or somewhere) when they are released from Studio Canal.

Reign of Fire looks great on HD DVD. The transfer does a great job on all the dark scenes (majority of the movie).

Waiting on Total Recall from XC.

Running Scared is pretty light on the extras (Trailer w/ German Soundtrack, English Commentary, Photo Gallery), but it definitely makes up for it in the presentation.

Yeah, Im just curious about the BD version due out soon. Im anticipating BV will put out a nice disc and I want to see some comparisons of the 2 releases before deciding to spend twice as much on an import.

Anyone know about this release coming out Tuesday in US? It’s only $13 so I figured just barebones, but I remember this never got a decent transfer. It was f-ed up somehow? Wondering if this is anything. I have digital and the 6-pk Blu this came with from long ago, but I think transfer on that is fubar too. **actually saw reviews of just Equilibrium on 6-pk being good and good audio. Can anyone confirm or deny?**
But a decent transfer for a highly underrated sci-fi/action movie with Christian Bale deserves better.

I don’t know about this release, but just about every release either had bad sound or wrong aspect ratio. The one where this movie was part of a 4 pack (2 movie per disc) was the only domestic release that had the correct aspect ratio, but just stereo sound. I never checked abroad for it.

I still have the Japanese HD-DVD of this. It's one of the few that was correct in OAR and sound.

I thought Equilibrium had 7.1 and was best transfer anywhere to date? I wish I could find that fucking thing. I remember so vividly the case art work and usually keep the multiple movies together. Eh, tomorrow when I have fresh eyes, I’ll find it. Got a craving to watch now. Anyone see the digital HD copy? How is that transfer?

It was a review on Amazon for verified purchase customer for 6-pk. More than a few said they got just for Equilibrium. Must have been why I bought…

Yeah, I’ll pass on that. Shout! Factory or one of their subsidiary's should pick this up and revamp and give us a decent extra or 2. If it exists that is.

Ok. You have it? It is proper OAR? 2.35:1, I believe. 5.1 DTS, Dolby? Does look good? Or better/same as Echo Bridge 6 movie collection which I heard is best in US thus far.Any extras. Thanks tres.

I have the Vudu digital, and that is barebones. Standard 5.1., but correct OAR. It’s Miramax, so I’m sure the disc is barebones as well.

Oh you’re saying digital is correct and best version? I got that. I thought you had new disc. Just curious about a/v since never great in US. Is the digital as good as Echo Bridges you know? Cause I’ll give the digital a whirl and call it a day…

The current digital is that same as that new disc release and will probably be as good as it gets, unless some boutique label decides to do something with it. That’s why I got it on digital. The Echo Bridge release does not have the correct OAR.
