HD-DVD / Blu-Ray ownership poll.

Now that both formats are out and the holiday's are over I figured a poll of HD format ownership is in order. I just got into HD-DVD myself recently.

Both for me as well. Why deny myself HD content?

I really hope to have an HD-DVD player very soon. Will try and get on off of ebay or something for as cheap as I can.

I wish I could choose more than one choice in the poll, because I presently own something like 50 HD DVD discs to play on my XA1, 3 Blu-ray discs with no player as of yet, however, I can't wait and am seriously itching like crazy to finally buy a PS3 to play them on, that is, if I can ever find one.

DAMN YOU SONY!!! &

I have the 360 HD-DVD drive because of the price. And own 10 HD-DVD's. I'd get into Blu-Ray as well if I could find a player for under $300. Blu-Ray would be the only reason for me to get a PS3 so I'm not too eager to pay $500 for one right now.

Blu-Ray Samsung and Panasonic players. I'll probably get a PS3 too, when I can get one locally.

Both. 1 HD-A1, 1 360 Add On, and 1 PS3.

I've got HD DVD for now. If Blu-ray shows me they're getting their act together, I will consider them, too.

Samsung Blu Ray. No current plans to buy HD DVD, but season sets of Battlestar Galactica could change that.

While you didn't spend $500 on just HD-DVD for 360, you certainly did in total to PLAY HD-DVD. You shouldn't expect to find a Blu-ray player for $300 when you couldn't come near that for a HD-DVD.

I still think that HD DVD is the superior format, but honestly, as long as WB/Uni/Paramount continue to make Blu Ray with the same content, HD-DVD has a long road ahead of it. Once PS3 begins to take off, I really worry about HD-DVD.

Poll needs a "waiting to see who wins the format war" option.

HD-DVD for me. I got the 360 add-on for Christmas. I only have King Kong and MI3 so far.

So far Universal has not released on BD, nor has announced any plans to. Same with Weinstein Co.

Well I had the 360 for 6 months prior to getting the HD-DVD drive. There are lots of good games to play on it. There are zero games that interest me on the PS3. So spending $500 on a PS3 just for Blu-Ray doesn't make sense to me. I'm not expecting to find a Blu-Ray player for $300 right now. A year from now yes I will expect it.

Proud HD DVD owner, and as soon as I can get my hands on a PS3 I will be a Blu-Ray owner too

I've had a Toshiba HD-A1 player since July and I picked up a PS3 a week ago. I'll still buy the HD-DVD version when the title is released on both formats, but there look to be quite a few Blu-ray discs I plan on picking up in the next few months.
