You don't need to worry about HDCP/AACS any more.
AnyDVD HD version removes it "on the fly"
I'm currently using a xbox 360 HD-DVD drive + Toshiba drivers UDF 2.5 + AnyDVD HD + PowerDVD Ultra with my PC (Intel D820 2.8 gig dual core) it does use up to 70% processor power though..
No problems playing ANY HD-DVD from a non HDCP/HDMI ati1600 cart over DVI into my Tv.
There is even a button in anyDVD HD sayin "rip HD-DVD to disk" and it works.
You have to play the rip asa playlist in PowerDVD Ultra if you rip it though.
Bye-bye HDCP/AACS!

DVD Talk Hero
I've made the plunge into the world of hi-def with my recent purchase of an LG GGC-H20L combo HD-DVD/Blu-Ray drive for my home theater PC.
I was planning to pick up a PS3, but found this great combo drive online for under $300. I'm using PowerDVD 7 and it works very well, though I do notice a pause from time to time if I have anything else running in the background. So if I'm going to watch a movie, I shut every other program down.
One odd thing is that I had to create a custom video profile for the hi-def discs as the default profiles were WAY too dark, almost impossible to see. Once I sorted that out, everything's been peachy. Also, it's apparently impossible to pass True-HD audio over optical, which is what I use, so everything is downconverted to THX Surround EX, which sounds great anyway, of course. I'll look into correcting that at a future date.
I'm using a Panasonic AE-900U projector, which is only 720p, but still looks brilliant. I have a 125.5" screen and I sit only about 12 feet away, so I think I might still see some improvement when I get around to upgrading to 1080p.
So far, I've gotten the new Kubrick releases, Planet Earth, Close Encounters, the Blade Runner briefcase, Superman Returns, and a few other titles for purchase, as well as renting several others. I'm tending to buy only Blu-ray, but rent both HD and BD from Netflix. The new 2001 is absolutely amazing looking. I almost wept.
Is anyone else here using a PC for their hi-def stuff?
