Which HD DVD player to buy

I am wondering if the Xbox 360 HD DVD Player is a good way to go. The thing that is holding me back is no HDMI output. Would this make a difference? I am also looking at the Toshiba HD-A1. What is this forums recommendations on this?
Thanks.

Why the A1 - do you need analog audio outputs?

Sounds like you can use HDMI, so I would go with the A2 - I just got mine and love it.

As for the XBox 360, I've heard about problems with it, but have no hands on experience.

I've had zero problems with my 360 add on drive. Zero. I have 8 movies all major films and no problems.

I'd go with a standalone player but the price difference is big enough that I understand the draw of the HD DVD addon.

Also, I have been downloading trailers from the lookandsoundofperfect.com and burnign them to a CDR and playing them on my 360, it says the WMV files are 720p. Is this what is going to look like with the HD-DVD players?

This would be like comparing pure gold to dirt.

The 360 add on suits my purposes. It looks great, sounds great and was cheap.

I'm a supporter of HD DVD but i didn't want to sink $500 into it yet. But if it wasn't for the add on option I would own an A2 right now.
