The Sopranos Season 6: Part 1 Blu-ray has a PCM 5.1 uncompressed track while the HD-DVD has a Dolby Digital+ track. I'm wondering if this is a signal that Warner will begin putting out uncompressed tracks for Blu-ray in 2007, in accordance with their catch-up plan. They mentioned BD50 space in the quote so this would be a great way to utilize it

Yep, it's HBO but Warner owns them just like New Line. I'm not a Sopranos fan so I don't own it.

I wonder if this will create picture discrepancies between the two editions.

Good deal. I imagine the reason they can get away with this and still have the picture look good is that HBO puts in the smallest amount of extras they possibly can, so there's probably not much on these discs but two episodes a disc.
