Thanks. That's what I was guessing reading through the thread as far as the colors.
What about the other columns, how do I decode those? Some are more obvious than others. :) |
Here's the key that Grubert uses:

To qualify, a title must have been announced by the studio (with price and availability date), or be available for preorder (not availability notification or obvious placeholder) at two different North American sites. I'm definitely interested in getting Shooter, Black Snake Moan and Springsteen. Big thumbs up on those.

Hmm, given equal audio/video specs, this will be interesting to see which one has more pre-orders and/or sells more discs.
Im on the fence with this one, I didnt love the movie like some, but I might snag the HD-DVD. Very interesting decision to go ahead and release BD earlier. It does look like WB is not against doing this for either format. |
I haven't even seen the movie yet, but I don't think I'm physically able to resist Jennifer Connely in HD... I think the HD DVD will be mine. Blind buy.
I'll be purchasing the HD DVD of Blood Diamond since it has the IME. I blind bought this one recently and loved it. Much, much better than I expected. DiCaprio was terrific as was Hounsou.
I think I'll wait and grab the HD DVD...however I've been eagerly awaiting this release, so hopefully I have the willpower to wait that extra month.
I'll go with the HD DVD as long as it's not a combo.
HD DVD for me
HD DVD for me as well. Luvin' these cool extra features!
Well, I'm glad Warner is releasing it sans the IME stuff for BD, since that's not a factor for me and I was about to pick up the DVD if I hadn't heard anything soon. So why isn't the same being done to The Matrix  Hopefully there will be lossless tracks on this since HDD says the tech specs will be the same for both, though they don't list them.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. At least we're getting catalogue pricing on Blood Diamond.
Wow, no grumblings from BD-only supporters that they are paying the exact same price for the BD version with less stuff on it ($28.99)?
I would be po'd at WB if I were BD-only supporter. |

Same price, but BD has less features. It should be a bit less since it IS less. Personally, I love almost everything that WB is doing. |
What do you want, a $24.98 retail price? $29.98 is the lowest retail price WB has used, and that's pretty damn good for a recent movie.
Even if I owned both I would still pick the HD-DVD, I've really enjoyed using the IME features. It'll be interesting to see what happens with 300.
Warner has updated the release date for the HD DVD version of Blood Diamond: July 3.
My distributor is now showing Meatballs for BR being delayed/Cancelled.
