Amazon refuses to acknowledge my 10% off discount when ordering Miami Vice
I just tried pre-ordering Miami Vice at Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/MIAMI-HD-DVD-R...?ie=UTF8&s=dvd) but when I proceed to the checkout it doesn't acknowledge my 10% discount. I know I've not reached my limit and it's an HD DVD so the discount should apply. What gives? Has anyone else experienced this when pre-ordering this or other titles?

They wont do anything about it.
I emailed them, they added my discount, then promptly removed it and email me back.
Very odd...for some reason, this hd-dvd is not covered by the discount. I believe others on avs have tried.

Well I just e-mailed them. I did remove the item from my cart, though. I hope that wont be a problem in getting them to acknowledge the 10% off discount.

I just got the following reply from Amazon:
Seems slightly more complicated than just adding the 10% discount right now but it works for me. If anyone else is considering ordering this release and you too have the 10% discount, I guess it's safe to order this so long as you make them aware of the problem.
Thank you for writing to Amazon.com to bring this to our attention.
I have reviewed our previous correspondence with you and offer my
sincere apologies for any misunderstanding.
I'm sorry your order total was calculated
incorrectly. Upon investigating your order, I found that it did
qualify for the 10% promotional discounts you mentioned.
We will be glad to issue a refund of these additional charges.
Unfortunately, because you are not charged until an order ships, we
cannot issue a refund just yet. We ask that you contact us again
after the entire order has been shipped and request a refund.
When you have received our e-mail confirming that your order has
shipped, please reopen this message and click the link at the
bottom. You will be directed to a web page where you can paste a
copy of the cost summary from your original order confirmation e-
mail. We will make sure to request the appropriate refund to your
credit card for the excess amount you were erroneously charged.
I hope this solution is satisfactory. Once again, I apologize for
this inconvenience.
Thank you for your patience in this matter, and thanks again for
shopping at Amazon.com.
