The Descent is still one of my favorite BDs. Even for a low-budget horror flick, it provides some really nice detail. And they included a 6.1 PCM track. Plus, the movie just kicks all kinds of ass.

I have the A2 Toshiba and so far no complaints. My only question is you can't click on "Set Up" while the movie is playing and make any changes. You have to do it b4 or after

I guess this is normal??

I use a universal remote, so my button may be different, but I just hit menu and make changes while the movie plays.

You're talking about the player's setup menu, correct? I've never seen a DVD player which didn't require you to stop playback before entering this screen.

On mow own JVC player I use to be able to pause during the movie and make changes then resume. It's no big deal I wa sjust wondering

I was watching "Fast and the Furious:Tokyo Drift" using the HDMI connection + component video cables. The video looks crystal clear and I do notice much more detail in colours and backgrounds. I'm very impressed so far!!.

I have yet to watch a sd dvd to see if there's an overall improvement

shanester 07-25-07 11:50 AM

I have a 50" Panasonic HDTV model from 2005

Should I leave the picture option @ "up to 720" or "1080" ??

Is there a siginficant difference between the two??

Thanks in advance!!

Thanks, but I need one that works with HDMI. I don't have any HMDI devices.

Bezerker 07-26-07 07:54 AM

Dont forget to use GCO to take another $10 off those dvds (to kill any questions, yes you can use the same credit card as many times as you want with GCO - just make sure to wait until your current item has shipped then make a new account with the same card, rinse & repeat).

J&SB: SB for $7.15 shipped, Snootchie Bootchies!

Noonan 07-26-07 08:14 AM

Looks like their site is down. I'm not able to add anything to my cart.

MTV.com sent me an email yesterday to remind me to use the code FREEMONEY2 and pay via Paypal to get $10 off of $30. Bought Hot Fuzz HD-DVD combo for $20 and change shipped.

Arpeggi 07-26-07 09:27 PM

Damn, how the fuck did you get it for $20? I got it for $27?! FUCK!

Arpeggi 07-26-07 09:30 PM

Damn, shipping is now free. My shipping was $5....

gryffinmaster 07-26-07 09:34 PM

Same MTV.com $20 deal applies to 300 as well.

The ironic thing is that even if you bought a HD and BD player AND the 10 movies it would STILL be cheaper than $1,200.

Bezerker 07-30-07 10:45 PM

Just a heads up to anyone with a Moviestop near em. Moviestop is doing a B2G1F used to celebrate 300. They are open til 2am today and will be have free food & raffles for diff prizes.

The B2G1F is good until end of day on Tuesday. Their prices arent always great (average is $19.99-$24.99 used). 3 $19.99 dvds would be around $13.33 each after the B2G1. A bit more than Buy.com after GCO, but you don't have to wait for shipping, and Moviestop has a lifetime warranty on all used products.

Thanks for the info! I was going to just pick up my pre-orders tomorrow, but now I have an excuse to peruse the hi-def section.
