this was posted in another thread, but if you go to adameve.com you can search for the toshiba hd a2 player. it costs $499.00.

there is a coupon "halfoff" where you get the player for a total of $249.50.

i bit for this price. hopefully they hold up this deal.

credit goes to person in other thread.

edit: Vipper II in the general hd news posted the deal. thanks to him.

Same here, although if there are enough positives with the A2 vs the A1 it might convince me to pick up a HDMI receiver.

I have to agree, I had it in the cart and was on the checkout screen when I decided I did not need it. If I could get the XA2 half off I would be more tempted. I need the analogs for now and my A1 is pretty nice. I will wait till G3 or so and then upgrade. I am still waiting to see how BD and HD-DVD progress through the fall and spring.

And HD DVD's:
Four Brothers
Lara Croft
Sleepy Hollow

Someone should tell them there's no such thing as a BD-DVD

They most certainly are NOT. Check their eBay feedback. It tells you all you need to know.

They appear to have excellent feedback on ebay. Plus, I ordered in the past from them and had no problems.

I've only got one order with them for 3 HD-DVDs, but it went very smooth and I was happy. Still only one order though.

I pulled the trigger on it last night even though I really don't need it. It's just too good of a deal to pass up, especially if you factor in the three free movies offer. I wonder how much the player would bring on eBay with the UPC removed from the box. I could see getting the free discs and a hundred bucks in my pocket.

UGH. I totally forgot about the free movies. I would have totally pulled the trigger.

While they do have a 99% rating, they have 60 negs in the past year. That's alot.

Not out of over 10,000 transactions. This is an excellent company - do not hesitate to order from them.

Edit: typo

We'll just have to disagree. I had to do a charge back on them their service and explanations were so deplorable. I suppose it's possible they have gotten better since I last ordered from them, but they are still screwing over some customers.

And no, there are plenty of eBay sellers with that many transactions and more that do not have the problems MJE does.

I saw King Kong HD at a wal-mart for $19.99. Cheaper than i've seen everywhere else.

Yeah, I think Walmart's pricing on the high-def formats is consistent with every region. Not sure why Kong is the exception, but every other title they've had with a $39.99 list price has never been sold for $20.

My Walmart also already had a shelf tag for Da Vinci Code. Too bad that won't be released until next year.

I received the Adam&Eve cancellation email today:

Dear Customer,

Some things are just too good to be true.

And, as much as I hate to have to tell you this, half off the Toshiba HD-DVD player is one of those things.

Our 50% off coupons were never meant to work with select high-end items, like the HD-DVD player. Because of the high wholesale cost to us, we simply can't afford to give this discount.
Can't say I'm all that surprised.
