For some reason, I cant force myself to by the SD versions of Bring It On or Pushing Tin because part of me is sure that they're gonna get an HD release pretty soon.
Does anyone else have movies that they just 'know' are gonna be on HD soon, even though they havent been announced?

I'm hoping Universal releases Inside Man and United 93 at some point. Paramount - Over the Hedge. I'm surprised they did not release Sandler's The Longest Yard for football season.
I think New Line's first title will be Snakes on a Plane. I think they are going to kick off their support with day & date titles. I would also expect Final Destination 3 from them.
Still have hopes Disney will release the first Pirates before Christmas since it is part of their BD promo. Chronicles of Narnia?
Sony should release Da Vinci Code next year hopefully before Summer. Spiderman 1 and 2 looks like definite releases before part 3. Same goes for Pirates 2 to coincide with 3's release.

Yeah, Goblet of Fire seems like a sure thing. An AVS thread says it's coming in another region at the end of November???? So we should see it around that time.
I remember the dvd got panned about pic quality during the beginning so hopefully the hd dvd will rectify this.

What about the James Bond films? I know those spiffy new dvd sets are coming out, but has anyone heard anything about BD releases in the near future? I mean, they do have those brand new HD transfers ready.

According to the big man himself, Peter Jackson, we wont be seeing LOTR on HD for at least another year or maybe even 2. He said he wants to oversee that process first hand and he just has to much going on right now to even begin to think of doing that at the present time. I am hoping we get lucky and maybe see something by next christmas but I wouldnt hold my breath for that. Maybe summer 2008? I am hoping if he does get some free time that he spends it by taking the directing job for the 2 Hobbit films. I just couldnt imagine anybody else directing a LOTR movie after the incredible job he did with the trilogy. I would prefer he put that priority above the overseeing of the trilogy put onto HD.
