HD-A1, includes HDMI cable?!

I have my HD-A1 on order and would like to know if it includes an HDMI cable.
And if so, how is the quality?

thanks

Once again, that is NOT true. But the packaged cable apparently does have enough quality to be fine.

Cable length can also be a factor, but the one that the Toshiba comes with works great.

The included cable is 'sufficient' as long as you can put up with the digital degradation that is inherent in cables that arent gold plated and cost less than $50 a ft. Since we all know that a '1' or '0' sent through a gold plated megashielded cable will generate a clearer image than an '1' or '0' sent through lesser cable commonly used by poor people.

Its a fact that on cable runs of more than 10 miles, you may experience enough signal loss to cause the hd-a1 to dip into its data buffer for a micro second. And thats unnacceptable.

OH, MAN!!! &

A while back, I bought one of those Panasonic DMR-ES46V DVD recorders and it came with a 6' HDMI cable, and so I'm using that one to hook up my dual tuner/DVR/digital cable box to the TV.

I needed another HDMI to hook up my new Sony DVP-NC85H 5 disk up-converter player in the meantime (since it didn't come with one and while Toshiba makes up it's FRIGGIN' mind on finally releasing the A2), and I bought a 3' for $44 (open box) thinking it would do, but it was too damn short, so I ended up going back, returned it, and bought a brand new 6' for something like $63.

Now knowing that the A1 (or A2) comes with it's own 6 footer, makes me tingly inside and is reason enough to take back the new 6' I just bought, not to mention the Sony too because once I get my hands on my own Toshibee, that'll be like taking $127 PLUS another $63 bucks off the total price of the unit!

(...well, at least in my mind anyway...)

DON'T WAKE ME!!! I'M DREAMIN'!!!

Do you feel better, now? Here's an idea, get a grip.

There are countless comments of problems with HDMI cables that were solved by getting a better cable. Note I didn't say an expensive cable. Often times the problem was with a $100 cable and it was solved by a $5 cable.

Yes, we all know that digital means "1s and 0s". However, if the 1s and 0s don't actually GET to the TV, then it really can't display anything.

Do a search for "sparklies" if you think I'm an idiot.

I love that the sub-$500 A1 comes with an HDMI cable, and the $1200 Panny BR player does not. Laughable.

Yes, it's a nice cable, well built and solid. If you need a longer run (as I did), Monoprice is the way to go. 25 feet for under $50 shipped, awesome deal.

I, actually, could really use one. I need a second cord so I can run my HD-A1 through by receiver. I really didn't want to plunk down $150 for a Monster at Best Buy

The monoprice one is really high quality. I bought it for my Denon 2910 and was blown away at how well made it was for the price.
