DVD Talk Seeking Blu-Ray Disc Reviewers
We're have a spot on our DVD Talk review panel for people who are able and interested in reviewing Blu-Ray discs.
If you are interested in being a part of the DVD Talk Review Panel please email me the following to [email protected]
- A sample DVD Review [You will NOT be considered without a writing sample]
See: http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/hd.php for format examples
- The Genres you enjoy/would like to review.
- Which platform(s) you can view
- A brief run down of the equipment specs you use to view DVDs
- If you are interested in reviewing Adult DVDs as well and which genres you'd be interested in.
- Where you are located (Must be in US)
- Your Age
- What are your favorite DVDs and least favorite DVDs and why?
- What you think you can bring to the DVD Talk Review Panel?
We recently filled out spots for HD-DVD reviewers, but really need now to add more Blu-Ray people.
Reviewers must be willing to review at least 4 DVDs per month and turn reviews around within 14 days of getting a DVD. We send out hundreds of DVDs per month to our current review panel (of about 50 writers).
We have a great Review system designed from the ground up by a DVD reviewer which is centered around matching our reviewers with the movies they like.
Thanks
Geoff

I think you'll find that there will be more applicants when the PS3 is released, as people are waiting for that as their first BD player. I guess it would be good to line them up now though, so they can get started as soon as it's out.

Also, the PS3 wouldn't be the best judge of quality, if reports are correct.

The studios have something else to be very optimistic about with the upcoming release of the Playstation 3 gaming console due to arrive this fall. There have been many concerns by home theater enthusiasts as to how well the PS3 will perform as a Blu-Ray player. Fox talked extensively about the Playstation 3 and the Blu-Ray titles they have been testing on their sample unit. According to the studio, the Blu-Ray titles played much better on the PS3 than standard DVDs have in regular DVD players. This sort of promised compatibility certainly raises the stakes of the PS3 being a reliable Blu-Ray delivery unit similar to the interesting developments surrounding the XBox 360 for HD DVD.

I would be interested after the PS3 comes out. There, I said it. I also have a A1, so I could do some comparisons. Are you accepting pre-orders on reviewers or do you need them now?

I haven't received any review discs yet, but I did get a ton of discs from Amazon yesterday. Tomorrow is my day off, so I will most likely watch and review some of the discs I already own (I believe we still need a review of Space Cowboys, for example) in anticipation of getting some review discs.

We are all jealous in a good way!
