HD DVD vs. Blu-Ray Disc vs. Everything Else: Round 4

Heres Amir's response
Alex said it right, but you did not . You said they were "denied" membership as if people sat around the table and decided they like Fox or not. That is how it works in BDA (seriously) but not DVD Forum. In DVD Forum, the 250 member companies vote for the companies nominated. We were one of those companies and got elected as was Disney. Fox did not get elected because they did not get more votes than Disney and us. Fox is a member of DVD Forum still and participates outside of the board level. - Amir

That's 10 million Blu-rry players in homes vs. maybe 1 million at best for HD-DVD. Even if only a fraction of the PS3 owners buy a single Blu-rry disc, that gives the format a huge edge in software sales. And that's not even factoring in standalone Blu-rry players.
I realize this is all based on "what if"s, but it's not like I'm going out on a limb here. These are all very distinct possibilities, and if it plays out this way, HD-DVD's gonna have an impossible mountain to climb.

Too much damn stuff in this thread.
1. Josh isn't going to ease up on his position. I think it's time we stop trying to drag him across the line. He won't come.
2. Kocheese: Ask Universal if the skipping problems with DolbyTrueHD on End of Days and Fear & Loathing were responsible for TrueHD being removed from more recent titles like The Thing, and confirm if Kong has TrueHD.
3. Rock: What will you do if Ebay disallows PS3 auctions this holiday season as is being rumored?
