HD/Blu-Ray DVD Question?

It's going to be a good 2 years before I upgrade to one or the other. As we all know some of the std. dvds have 3 or 4 different versions you can buy. Will this same trend happen with HD/Blu-Ray?? For instance the Last Samurai is basically a mirror of the std. dvd with the exception of better video, audio..etc. Later on, would HD revisit it's early titles to add more features that HD is capable of?

No promises, but I would bet money that if the HD formats catch on movies will be revisited. In fact Sony already mentioned redoing The Fifth Element.

I would guarantee that if they can make money doing it, it will continue.
