Bought Sky Captain two days ago. Before that, the last thing I bought was Van Helsing from Amazon back in May for a grand total of about 6 discs.

Just picked up Swordfish from Amazon, against my better judgment.

I got Sky Captain because I remembered it as being a lot better than it is. The style of the film makes HD irrelevant. Everything has a soft blur thats supposed to make it look stylish but in HD it just looks blurry.

I got Tomb Raider at the same time and it's excellent. I hope the second one is released soon.

There isnt anything on the horizon that looks interesting so I think I'm done for the next couple of months.

I hate the look of Sky Captain. Does it make CGI look more seamless? Sure. But it also happens to look like crap.

Added Constantine to the mix yesterday afternoon. Now, if Amazon would just stop taking its good old time and ship the damn thing, that'd make everything even nicer.

Despite my resistance to combos, all the great reviews on Kiss Kiss Bang Bang made me break down and order it.

Good pick-up; it really is worth it, for the picture quality, alone.

Yesterday i recieved my Amazon order of Tomb Raider, Sky Captain and Friday Night Lights despite the estimated arrival not being until the 5th of August so that was a pleasant surprise. Can't wait until my copy of Equilibrium arrives though, i'm dying to see that in HD!

I'm still on the fence as to whether to buy that, Brothers Grimm, and The Pianist. The cost is pretty high.

I just picked up Pitch Black and Sleepy Hollow from Amazon. I'll be buying more on the big day (Aug. 8).

Found used copies of Van Helsing and U-571 at a Gamestop. Got my employee discount on them. Good times.

I'm going to have to start checking Gamestop and EB for these.

Probably makes more sense to just call around. This is the only one I know in town that has them, and they had about six HD titles and 4 BD titles.

I bought Serenity way back when Amazon had it cheap and I've been hanging onto it (sans player) for weeks.

I think I'm finally about to pull the trigger on an A1 in the next couple of weeks. At that point, I have 17 titles on my 'buy' list:

Blazing Saddles
Apollo 13
Goodfellas
Full Metal Jacket
Unforgiven
Fugitive
Lethal Weapon
Animal House
Land of the Dead
Sky Captain
U2: Rattle & Hum
Red Dragon
Army of Darkness
Fast Times
Slither
Caddyshack
Searchers

I may pick up a few on Aug. 8 in anticipation of my player.

Some of these obviously aren't out yet. And others (like Sky Captain and U2) are fairly low on the list, since I have the SD versions and there is little improvement. I may hold out for a major sale of some sort on those.

I just pre-ordered 'The Pianist' from yesasia.com - it's the Japanese version, but comes with the English soundtrack. Expensive, but it's one HD-DVD film I would like to own. I notice they have 'Brothers Grimm' and one or two other titles not available in the US at the moment.

I looked on amazon.jp and they are slightly cheaper for the Japanese titles, but they didn't have 'The Pianist'.

I received GoodFellas, Happy Gilmore, and Apollo 13 yesterday. I already have Serenity, The Bourne Supremacy, and Lethal Weapon. Pitch Black and Blazing Saddles should arrive today.

So far the closest I've come to disappointment is GoodFellas and it's not like the HD-DVD doesn't look nice. It's just the only one so far that's merely a minor improvement over the upconverted SD-DVD.

Next one I get will probably be Ray. I've heard great things about that disc and I still haven't seen the movie.

I broke down and got my first combo DVD/HD-DVD, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. No way would I pay $35-$40 at retailers but Amazon had it for $25.15 after the 10% discount so I jumped in.

If they ever lower the price on those combo discs, I'll consider picking them up. But $25.15 is too much for a blind buy(except for certain Criterions).
