Entirely agree. I hope that isn't the real cover. I've never made my own covers before, but I might give it a try for that one.

I'll hold off for the rumored special edition. I have the SE on DVD, that'll hold me off for a while...

Indeed. If anything, the redesigned cover gives me more motivation to hold off.

I'm waiting for a new transfer. The skull on this cover looks a little like an alien. Reminds me of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Reminds me of Ghostrider. Plus the shape is all wrong.

Looks more like Ghost Rider 2099.

I had hoped with Blu Ray, they'd cut it out with the lame DVD-style covers and start using some poster art or even some of the original artwork associated with the film... Nope, looks like the same interns are still photoshopping these things.

Re: Terminator (Blu-Ray) Review!!!

I'm confused - so there been two version of Terminator (1) on blu, the first one from Sony and then the latest one with the butt ugly lenticular cover from Fox - what's up with the sound? The Sony had uncompressed 5.1 sound, the Fox had 5.1 Dolby Digital (lossless?) and Dolby Digital EX (6.1) sound - granted it's not the film's original mono mix which of the two is actually better - The Sony or Fox soundmixes?

Given the movie's age, I doubt the soundtracks between the two releases are going to sound any different.

No. MGM (Fox) released both discs and in fact, the discs are identical. The only difference is a lenticular slipcover. It has PCM and DD audio.

Re: Terminator (Blu-Ray) Review!!!

as my friend informed me, the MGM/Sony release was the first release, when bluray first debuted. MGM's library then migrated over to Fox, where it's noted as such on the newer rerelease. So... is the 6.1 sound encode noted on the back of the slipcover incorrect?
