E-Mail from Blockbuster regarding HD-DVD
I got this e-mail from Blockbuster Online today. I don't know what I'm more upset about, that they're basically calling me an idiot or that they seem to not want to sell a new product...
Dear XXXXXXX,
Over the last few weeks, your Queue has included DVDs in HD format, a new DVD format that cannot be read by regular DVD players.
You may have added HD DVDs to your Queue without realizing that you were selecting a new, non-standard format. To make sure that you won't receive a DVD in a format that you're not able to view, we have gone ahead and removed all HD DVD titles from your Queue.
If you did intend to select HD format DVDs, we apologize for the inconvenience. Just re-add the titles you want to your Queue and we'll ship them to you as soon as they are available.

I had alrady emailed them about this. They kept switching my discs to the SD version. I got a response. They said they're working to correct it and make sure people understand the difference.
I think I can see their point. Can't you? People probably aren't aware of what HD really is. I have a close friend that asked me the other day "so you mean DVD's aren't HD?"

I think sending an e-mail like that makes sense, but to go ahead and remove them from my queue was a terrible idea. I was insulted that they just assumed I had no idea what I was doing and now I have to go back, add them again, and put them in the queue order I had them in. Give me the information but let ME make the decisions, Blockbuster!
I should also add that they keep switching my HD titles to SD without telling me or giving me the option of doing so. I don't find out until the wrong disc arrives in the mail.

Netflix handles this much better. You basically get to opt in for HD DVD to make sure you really want them. It happens the first time you try and select a HD DVD disc and you don't have to worry about it again. Taking stuff out of your queue is just stupid. Ask first at least.
