When is Fox scheduled to announce its first wave of Blu-ray titles?
With the exception of House of Flying Daggers, the first Sony batch of BR does absolutely nothing for me (I'm not plunking down 1K in order to watch Hitch and 50 First Dates on hi-def. (What were they thinking?)
But I am *very* curious to see which titles Fox is planning to bring to market. Since they never released a proper anamorphic disc of The Abyss, I'm kinda hoping that's one of them. Anyone know when they're planning to reveal their list?

You said UMD was a "success" and now "a waste of money". How do you reconcile those two statements?

Damn, that's 2 things that I have to agree with Jimmy on. List of items both successful and a waste of money:
Sports cars
MS Windows
Bose
Creative Memories (although the chicks may disagree)
Food at over $30/plate
Drinking at bars
Lobbying for your favorite presidential candidate (about 50% success rate)
etc.

So, it's a success for Sony, but a waste of money for you to buy it?
Then the rest of the sentence is confusing:
"...yet I get a reputation as a Sony fanboy."
I figured your statement meant that you shouldn't be called a Sony fanboy because you 1) support Sony sometimes and 2) criticize their failures.
Instead you simply praise Sony for the success and simply state it is a waste of money for you. I don't see how this kind of statement frees you from being labeled a "Sony fanboy".

Um, I was the one who *started* this thread. It only took 3 posts for Jimmy to derail it into yet another Sony-is-great! discussion that had absolutely nothing to do with Fox. I was merely responding to that.

You really should add words like "I think", "Possibly", "Maybe" and "In my opinion" to your vocabulary.
